BLAST from the past (29th May 2007)
What tmrw’s Youth Camp means to me?
by alvin boey
Editor: This is a blast from the past blog entry taken from Alvin's old blog about the youth camp we had. Certainly many great memories. We hope that we can continue to make more meaningful GOD-memories with one another. Too cliche? But, it's the truth. Lord, guard our hearts, never let our hearts be SO cynical as we grow older. We want to mature in You and not grow older.

A pretty straight forward entry today with no twist and turns and unexpected shock and awe kind of post with hidden meanings in between the wordings churned out on a daily basis here. What you read here today is what you get. I will share as much as I can here if time permits me because camp is only one day away and I need to tighten some loose nuts and screws concerning the camp planning matters.
Here goes nothing.
Tmrw’s youth camp will signal a complete transition of youth leadership from the seniors to the current batch of leadership. A momentous close to the first 10 years of the history of YPF which have seen how God has move so faithfully and powerfully. The curtains are raised down and tmrw will birth a new chapter in the YPF history book where the new batch of crazy and exciting youth leaders take over the helm. 10 years of faithfulness, really. God has been good. Now a dawn of another 10 years of faithfulness, God willing.
I’m a bit overwhelmed right now, so forgive me if my writing today seem a bit tad confusing and non-coherent at times. I try not to choke here.
Give me one moment….
…..
…..
I have no words left in my mind to describe how grateful I am to God for what He is doing among us in this Youth ministry. It is beyond words really to describe how proud I am of this current batch of leadership who has not only taken upon the challenge thrown their way, but also their commitment to remain faithful through the tough times in the course of preparing for this camp.
And I can say this with the grace of God, tmrw’s camp will be organized, planned, arranged, coordinated by the youngest ever set of leadership I’ve ever seen, heard or experience. And that’s no mean feat, Praise God. I can never say that phrase too many times because it just reminds me of the verse in 1 timothy 4 about not despising one’s youth which was implanted in my heart 10 years ago when we started the youth ministry in the church.
Two years ago, they werejust kids. But now, they are now all grown up taking over the leadership mantle from their seniors while their seniors move on to the tertiary ministry. I can humbly tell you that the possibilities are endless with this present leadership. I can just literally sense the buzz, the anointing, the possibilities and that excites me to the core that I need to pen this down before my memory fails me.
I dedicate this entry to my God who has been amazing. He just blows me away when He reminded me this morning of the last 10 years of what He has done.
Without Him this will not be possible.
I am looking forward to the next 10 great years, doesn’t matter whether I’m still around serving in the youth ministry.
It is a dawn of a new day for the YPF ministry.
It will be a wild ride…..
Yes, Lord, I’m prepared to be WOW-ed by You in tmrw’s Youth Camp.
I’m ready.
